After winning award after award ever since it opened in late 2006, the BEST WESTERN PLUS Charlottesville Airport Inn & Suites in Ruckersville was recognized with both the M.K. Guertin Award and the Champion Customer Care Award at Best Western International’s 2012 Convention and Global Conference held recently in Las Vegas, Nev.  The awards were presented in front of more than 2,000 industry peers.

The prestigious M.K. Guertin Award is bestowed upon those Member properties that have represented the vision of Best Western’s founder and best demonstrated exceptional levels of service, quality, value and commitment to the brand. The Customer Care Champion Award honors Member properties that demonstrate and best exemplify exceptional levels of service and care. The hotels must also meet design standards and other membership requirements to qualify for each award.

The BEST WESTERN PLUS Charlottesville Airport Inn & Suites is one of only 28 hotels out of more than 2,400 properties in the U.S. and Canada to receive both awards.

“These awards recognize those Best Western hotels that truly demonstrate the highest levels of quality and service within the brand,” said Devang Amin, Chairman of Best Western International’s Board of Directors. “The BEST WESTERN PLUS Charlottesville Airport represents a strong commitment to excellence and to guests.”

Within months of its opening, the three diamond-rated Inn was awarded Best Western’s Director’s Award for achieving a quality assurance score of 950 or above out of a highest possible score of 1,000. The following year the hotel was presented with Best Western’s Chairman’s Award and the Best of the Best Award for overall design – an award that is particularly distinctive as only seven are presented each year.

In 2008 it won Best Western’s Chairman’s Award twice, as well as Best Western’s Champion Quality Award, which requires top scores in customer service as well as quality assurance.

In 2009, BEST WESTERN PLUS Charlottesville Airport Inn & Suites won two more awards: Best Western’s Chairman’s Award, and its Champion Customer Care Award. In 2010 the Inn’s sales manager, Veronica Dumas, was named national Sales Director of the Year. The hotel was presented with another Chairman’s Award, and another Champion Customer Care Award.

General Manager Jillian Peatross

In 2011 the Inn earned the PLUS that now follows its BEST WESTERN name, earning the status that indicates well-appointed rooms with modern amenities, and an enhanced level of comfort for guests looking to get the most out of their stay.

That summer, the hotel management was quoted in Best Western Way, a corporate magazine published for the trade, and in 2012 was awarded Best Western’s M.K. Geurtin Award.

“It is our goal to continue to provide a level of service and comfort that is superior to our competition,” the Inn’s general manager, Jillian Peatross, told Eye on Greene earlier this year.

The latest awards prove that she meant it.
